‘Literature to Life'

Junot Diaz's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel "The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao," which chronicles the life of an overweight science fiction enthusiast who dreams of becoming the Dominican J.R.R. Tolkien, has been adapted for the stage, Aug. 7 at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7:30 for free seating on a first-come, first-served basis. Also, free admission to the museum on Fridays and Saturdays, 5-7 p.m., through Aug. 28, and free parking. Free planetarium shows on Fridays at 6 p.m. and ticketed shows at 12:30 and 2 p.m. on Saturdays ($13 for adults, $9 for seniors and students, $7 for ages 3-18, free for members). Hudson River Museum's Summer Amphitheater at John F. Kennedy Memorial Drive and Trevor Park.
